Fred Bouwman, CPA
Fred Bouwman graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Commerce and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation (now CPA, CA) in British Columbia. He trained with BDO Dunwoody, a national firm located in Kelowna, B.C. During those years, Fred worked in auditing of large companies and non-profit organizations and on personal income taxes.
Fred moved to Vancouver and worked for a number of years in small CPA firms focusing on preparing personal and corporate tax returns for owner managed businesses. The firm prepared the corporate records and filed the GST and corporate tax returns and advised the owners on the most tax advantageous ways to extract money from their corporations. Fred also assisted with tax planning to minimize future income taxes.
Fred then worked overseas in Bermuda and the U.S and returned to Vancouver in early 2016 to continue working in a CPA firm specializing in owner managed businesses.
In January 2018, Fred Bouwman, CPA – Professional Corporation, purchased the personal income tax clients of Bruce County Bookkeeping and Income Tax Services. Fred will continue with the personal tax and expand his services to include Corporate financial statement preparation and Corporate income tax preparation. He will work with owner managed businesses to minimize both the current tax and more importantly, on tax planning to reduce future corporate and personal tax.
Fred is currently enrolled in the In-Depth tax course, a 3-year tax program for income tax practitioners that provides Canada’s most in-depth teaching of personal, corporate, partnership, and trusts taxation.
